About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic legal professional to join a high performing health practice in Sydney on a full-time basis. Ideally, you will be newly admitted or have up to 2 years of post-qualification experience with a keen interest in health and medical negligence.

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of health and medical negligence matters while representing medical and allied healthcare professionals. This includes coronial investigations and inquests, disciplinary investigations, and personal injury claims.

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of the above matters, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will be part of a collaborative team with varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Our legal professionals gain valuable experience working alongside and learning from our highly regarded principals. We are interested in candidates who are motivated and interested in gaining experience and insight into our Health law practice area.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A genuine interest in working in insurance law or litigation, ideally in the health and medical negligence space.
  • Newly admitted or with up to 2 years of post-admission experience in an insurance practice, preferably with some health or medical negligence experience.
  • Ability to work fast and meticulously with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be a key member of a busy and close-knit team.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the legal issues relevant to the practice of health law and a demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the commercial objectives of clients.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of seniority.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to deal confidently with clients directly and foster client relationships.
  • Time management skills and proven ability to prioritise multiple active matters at any one time.
