Aboriginal Economic Growth Champion

We're seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to lead our Transformation Team within the Reform and Innovation Branch. As the key figure in shaping Aboriginal economic growth, you'll spearhead the development, implementation, and delivery of projects and policy initiatives aimed at achieving tangible outcomes aligned with Closing the Gap objectives.

Your role will be multifaceted and impactful. You'll lead your team in developing reform initiatives and strategies, work in partnership with Aboriginal partners, deliver events for Aboriginal Businesses, and ensure the success of the first Aboriginal Business Ministerial Taskforce. From overseeing all aspects of project management to representing the Department's position at various forums, you'll drive forward Aboriginal Economic growth and prosperity in NSW.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team towards achieving project objectives.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management abilities, including strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiation, including representing organisational positions at various levels.
  • Deliver Results: Ability to critically analyse complex policy issues and provide sound recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Business Development: Experience in business development or economic policy is desirable, particularly in identifying opportunities and supporting growth initiatives.
  • Commitment to Customer Service: Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
