Job Title: Deputy Principal - Senior Secondary Discrete Communities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal to lead our Senior Secondary Discrete Communities team in the Far North Queensland Region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for school to employment pathways in each of the discrete communities.

About the Role

The Deputy Principal (Senior Secondary Discrete Communities) position will be based at Western Cape College, Weipa Campus. You will work closely with the Principal and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and increase opportunities for students to transition into employment or further education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for school to employment pathways in each of the discrete communities
  • Actively promote and source VET RTO's to deliver into the discrete communities
  • Development of Senior Secondary systems to enable compliance with QCAA and VET programs
  • Work Experience Systems for each of the schools
  • QCAA Compliance- QCE/QCIA
  • Provision of VET in schools to ensure successful delivery of programs that are compliant with VET systems
  • Provide Senior Secondary technical expertise to the Principal and Deputy Principal and HOD Secondary in each of the schools
  • Develop links and partnerships with industry groups and organisations for school to work transitions
  • Develop links with external schools including Western Cape College to assist in the delivery of senior secondary programs
  • Develop effective tracking systems- Case and Complex Case Management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing education programs
  • Knowledge of VET systems and QCAA compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and isolated environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
