About the Role

The Department of Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Principal - Secondary to join the school leadership team at Koolkan Aurukun State School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Principal in leading the school community to develop and implement a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
About the Opportunity

As a Deputy Principal - Secondary, you will directly contribute to the continuous improvement in educational outcomes for school students at Koolkan Aurukun SS with a focus on attendance, behaviour, literacy, and numeracy.

You will work with the Principal to successfully implement Departmental priorities in positive behaviour learning (PBL).

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a Deputy Principal or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the school community.
  • Knowledge of Departmental priorities and initiatives.
