Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing, securing external funding and publishing research findings.">
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive links within the University and with local stakeholders to support sustainable management of Tasmania's living marine resources.">
  • Develop and deliver engaging teaching materials in marine spatial science, catering to diverse applications in oceanography, marine resources, and governance.">
  • Mentor students in the application of marine landscape ecology techniques.">

Requirements:

">
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, such as marine and coastal ecology, geography, geospatial science, or oceanography.">
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in spatial analysis and remote sensing techniques.">
  • Advanced skills with software packages and programming languages for marine spatial science (R, Q-GIS, etc.).">
  • An emerging (for Level B) or established (for Level C) record of research and teaching experience.">
  • Strong evidence of independent work leading to timely and significant outcomes, coupled with effectiveness in team collaboration and relationship-building.">

Estimated Salary: $110,992 - $152,157 per annum (Academic Level B), or $133,981 - $178,024 per annum (Academic Level C), plus 17% superannuation.
