**Your new role**

The purpose of the position is to sustain transmission, distribution and communication network performance by maintaining high-quality asset master data (including spatial data). The role is responsible for creating and modifying network asset master data using a variety of systems, including SAP and GIS. The position ensures that asset management systems are kept up to date and is responsible for the initial creation of asset master data records and the management of those records throughout the asset lifecycle.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Key challenges:

- Maintaining close working relationships with field team members.
- Interpretation of asset information.
- Undertaking follow-up actions to resolve missing or ambiguous asset data.
- Ensuring asset registers are kept up to date in a timely fashion.
- To effectively update the system data into GIS and asset information systems.
- Maintaining an excellent understanding of data models (including the GIS connectivity model) and data processes.

Key accountabilities:

- Responsible for receiving and prioritising asset master data request requests.
- Coordination of the master data notification process ensuring timely data updates.
- Create and modify asset data (including network and telecommunication) in accordance with agreed standards and data specifications.
- Assignment of maintenance regimes to new assets.
- Update spatial data.
- Update spatial data.
- Coordinate spatial data requests, provide spatial system support and services, including the provision of simple mapping services and data reporting.
- Provide asset and GIS data, schematics, maps and detail drawings of the transmission, distribution and communication network and associated equipment.

Work experience:
Essential:
Knowledge:

- Excellent knowledge of electricity network systems, spatial context, network topology and data.

**Experience**:

- Prior experience with CAD and/or GIS in an applied role (capable of manually updating records and performing spatial queries)
- Demonstrable experience maintaining asset master data.
- The ability to prioritise and make independent decisions.
- Proven ability to work in small teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention-to-detail skills.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

- Relevant knowledge and understanding of the electricity industry and regulatory framework.

Education/Qualifications:
Essential:

- Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Spatial Science or equivalent experience.
