Role Responsibilities We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to join our vibrant team at MCC Melbourne. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead efforts to cultivate a culture centered on safety and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, you will manage all facets of site operations, driving performance to align with strategic business objectives. Your proficiency in lean management will be vital as you implement the MCC lean framework and lead continuous improvement initiatives. With a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and cost efficiency, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and enhance overall performance. In this engaging and diverse role, you will: Champion a zero-incident culture, ensuring a safe work environment and promoting safe working practices among all employees, in compliance with regulatory standards and MCC policies. Oversee overall site operations, driving MCC policies to achieve business strategies and plant objectives by establishing production performance standards and aligning the organization to meet those standards. Lead the implementation of the MCC lean framework within the plant, fully supporting the Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) system and its components. Exhibit leadership, take ownership, and serve as a role model for MCC values and MDI discipline. Develop a diverse, high-performing operational team capable of achieving business improvement goals while fostering a culture of accountability, action, and continuous improvement, with safety as a top priority. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce costs, enhance margins, and drive overall performance improvements. Maintain a rigorous focus on improving Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery (SQCD) performance metrics, sharing best practices across the organization. Build employee capabilities through effective relations, hiring, training, and communication for both management and front-line personnel. Manage costs through effective expenditure approvals, overtime management, and diligent budget monitoring and reporting. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance operational performance within the plant. Demonstrate leadership and promote best practice work habits to boost productivity. Conduct process confirmations to support a productive work environment. Communicate effectively across all organizational levels; work closely with labor unions and works councils to achieve overall MCC objectives. Candidate Profile Proven experience in Operations/Lean Management, preferably within a printing context, with Cost Centre/P&L responsibility at the plant level. Demonstrated ability to lead change in complex transformational initiatives. Significant experience in implementing complex Lean principles in manufacturing operations. Proven track record in designing, implementing, and achieving KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving throughput, shortening cycle times, and enhancing inventory turns.
