This exciting career opportunity is based at the Moolarben Coal Open Cut in the Western Coalfields of New South Wales.

During an 18-month period, you will complete a Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations through formal on-the-job training.

Upon successful completion, you will earn a nationally recognised qualification.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Surface Extraction Operations Trainee, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Operating Surface Plant and Haulage equipment
  • Communicating with other operators via various methods
  • Performing manual labour duties and carrying out tasks as instructed
  • Identifying and learning about environmental hazards in an Open Cut Mining Operation
  • Adhering to Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Completing related course work associated with the Traineeship

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Willingness to undertake an Order 43 Pre-Employment Medical
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and have great communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and physical fitness to work in a physically demanding role
