Program Management Support Officer Job Description

Job Title:

A Program Management Support Officer is required to join our team in Canberra.

The Strategic Fleet Program Team is responsible for implementing the Australian Government's response to the Strategic Fleet Taskforce report. As a Program Management Support Officer, you will assist with all program and project management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, program governance frameworks, best practice processes and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide secretariat support to the Strategic Fleet Program Board, Interdepartmental Working Groups, and DITRDCA Program Monitoring Working Group.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly program progress reports with each of the project leads.
  • Assist with the preparation of program management documentation, including the development of program strategies.
  • E nsure program management documentation is kept up to date, including benefit, risk, issues, action, and decisions registers.
  • Foster program management capability development within the branch.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enable productive liaison in relation to program implementation.
  • Assist the program manager in analyzing program risks to ensure program benefits are not compromised.
Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and time management by completing all activities to a high standard and ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Be flexible and adaptive to meet Government urgent priorities, sometimes at short notice.
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbal, delivering information in a variety of formats for a range of audiences.
  • Think strategically, evaluating complex information from a variety of sources to make connections and sound decisions while exercising good judgement.
