Empowering local communities through sustainable development initiatives is a critical aspect of community growth and cohesion.

This role presents an opportunity to collaborate with community groups, stakeholders, and government departments in establishing and maintaining action plans that address the unique needs and challenges of disabilities and seniors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with community members, groups, and stakeholders to identify and develop strategies that foster social inclusion and promote diversity.
  • Developing and implementing projects that empower community groups and individuals to create, support, grow, and sustain connected, healthy, and inclusive communities.
  • Collaborating with local organizations and services to provide support and resources for community initiatives.
  • Organizing and facilitating workshops, events, and activities to encourage community participation and engagement.
  • Reporting progress to the Community Development Manager on project plans and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in community development, stakeholder engagement, and project planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse community groups.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by disabilities and seniors communities, coupled with a dedication to driving positive change.
  • Strong organizational abilities, enabling effective management of multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • An empathetic and compassionate approach, inspiring and motivating others.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusivity in all aspects of community development.
