Role Overview:

This leadership position plays a pivotal role in the Department of Treasury and Finance, driving policy development and advice on energy, environment, climate change, and natural resources issues.

The successful applicant will lead a small team to deliver timely, accurate, accessible, and fit-for-purpose advice for senior management and government. They will also manage projects to inform policy development, collaborate with stakeholders, and foster a positive team culture.

Key responsibilities include researching economic and/or public policy issues, managing complex and sensitive stakeholder relationships, and mentoring team members.

Required skills and qualifications:

- Strong understanding of State government's role in policy making

- Excellent influence and communication skills, including conveying complex issues persuasively to senior executives

- Demonstrated experience leading and developing others to pursue common goals

- Tertiary qualifications in economics, public policy, commerce, law, or a related field are an advantage
