As a school psychology specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting student learning and wellbeing across the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans for students, utilising psychometric assessments to inform clinical decisions.
  • Promote inclusive and equitable practices, championing the rights of students with disabilities and advocating for their needs within schools.
  • Design and deliver professional learning initiatives, empowering teachers to adapt their practice and cater to diverse student needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to families and school communities, addressing social, emotional, and behavioural learning challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to leverage psychological expertise and enhance student outcomes.
  • Advise schools on strategies to optimise student success, leveraging Educational Adjustment Plans to drive positive change.
About this role:
  • Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications and be eligible for registration as a Psychologist in Australia.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current Australian Government policies and an understanding of supporting students with additional needs.
  • Exhibit awareness of the social, economic, and cultural diversity within the Northern Territory.
  • Display experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting screeners and diagnostic assessments to inform student support.
  • Hold a valid Northern Territory Driver's Licence and a current Ochre Card.
