About the Role:

Ventia is seeking a skilled Tree Management Team Member to join our team on the Mornington Peninsula. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Mornington Peninsula Shire in preserving the health, safety, and beauty of its trees and green spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tree Maintenance: Contribute to a range of tree maintenance tasks, including electrical line clearance, area vegetation management, and other activities that ensure the health and vitality of the Shire's trees and green spaces.
  • Pruning and Removals: Work to support the community responding to pruning requests and tree removals.
  • Storm Response: Assist in responding to storm-damaged trees, prioritizing public safety and minimizing property damage through efficient and effective tree clearance and removal.

Requirements:

  • Tree Experience: 3+ years of experience in tree management or a related field.
  • Equipment Operation: Experience in the operation of plant and equipment (EWPs, Trucks, Chippers, Stump Grinders) and minor tools and equipment (chainsaws, pole saws, brush cutters, blowers).
  • Certifications: Work Place First Aid, Road Traffic Control, EWP, Working at Heights, and Chainsaw operation are desirable but can be gained during employment.
  • Licenses: Current Medium Rigid/Heavy Rigid Truck License (MR/HR) is desirable but can be gained during employment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
