Job Title: Lead Structural Analyst
This position involves leading in-depth forensic assessments of buildings and civil structures, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations on all worksites. You will be responsible for producing thorough, solution-focused reports with clear recommendations and providing mentorship to junior engineers.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus), with RPEQ and NPER accreditation, and proven experience in structural design and forensic analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. They will also have strong capability in assessing and diagnosing structural damage in various types of buildings, as well as proficiency in structural analysis software across different platforms.
We are looking for someone with exceptional technical report-writing skills, the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to clients and team members, and leadership experience including mentoring junior engineers and providing technical oversight. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables effectively, as well as foster and manage strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead in-depth forensic assessments of buildings and civil structures.
- Uphold and promote adherence to health and safety regulations on all worksites.
- Produce thorough, solution-focused forensic reports with clear recommendations.
- Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior forensic engineers.
- Foster and manage strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets to ensure efficient delivery.
- Administer contract-related tasks such as processing variations, progress claims, and approvals.
- Take initiative in resolving client concerns and applying corrective measures promptly.
- Contribute to sales and marketing initiatives by promoting services and identifying new opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus), with RPEQ and NPER accreditation.
- Proven experience in structural design and forensic analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial projects up to $20M.
- Strong capability in assessing and diagnosing structural damage in various types of buildings.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software across different platforms.
- Exceptional technical report-writing skills with a focus on clarity and actionable insights.
- Confident verbal communicator with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to clients and team members.
- Leadership experience including mentoring junior engineers and providing technical oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables effectively.
- Experience maintaining compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across multiple projects.
- Proven ability to foster and manage strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Involvement in business development, including identifying new opportunities and supporting marketing efforts.
