Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel.

This role requires an individual who possesses strong expertise in construction law, project delivery, and corporate compliance.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on engineering and construction agreements, drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing claims and litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal guidance on front-end construction law, project delivery, and corporate compliance.
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on engineering and construction agreements.
  • Manage claims and litigation, including professional indemnity matters.
  • Deliver legal and commercial training to project teams.
  • Maintain internal policies, implement legal updates, and contribute to monthly legal communications.
  • Support the development of legal precedents and resources.
  • Lead and mentor junior legal staff, contributing to team strategy and growth.
Requirements:
  • Law degree and current Australian practising certificate.
  • 5-10 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in consulting engineering/architecture or the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of procurement models and contract law.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and passion for continuous learning.
