Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Contracts Administrator to join our project team. As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of large and complex subcontracts and self-performed works.

Key responsibilities include planning and managing the end-to-end commercial management of subcontracts, preparing procurement packages, identifying potential subcontractors, determining procurement methods, preparation and administration of tenders, and negotiation and preparation of subcontracts.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including indirect reports, to deliver project commercial outcomes. This role requires strong commercial acumen and awareness in areas of cost management and contract law.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end commercial management of subcontracts and self-performed works.
  • Prepare procurement packages, identify potential subcontractors, determine procurement methods, and administer tenders.
  • Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project commercial outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other commercial roles, including indirect reports.
  • Identify and implement appropriate controls to mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with subcontract delivery.
  • Assist with identification and quantification of potential Head Contract Variations.
  • Ensure accurate cost forecasting and maintenance of commercial and contract systems.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.
  • Experience in all stages of subcontract management, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations management, completion and close out.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and cost management principles.
