Cloud Financial Manager Position

Job Summary:

This is a key role that works closely with cloud technical teams, finance teams, and the wider business. You will be part of a large end-user organisation, one of the biggest employers in the southern hemisphere, in a senior FinOps capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders on cloud adoption and optimisation strategies.
  • Develop and implement best practice cloud technology adoption, execution, optimisation, efficiency, and management of spending on cloud.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience within a multi-cloud financial management environment as a Lead FinOps Engineer/Analyst/Consultant/Architect or Technical Manager.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in cloud utilisation efficiency, cloud adoption, cloud optimization, and maturation, as well as cloud cost optimisation.
  • Strong communications and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detailed financial numeracy and finance understanding to estimate costs, understand best prices, and manage spending on cloud technology.

Desirable Skills:

  • Detailed financial/accounting analysis background, alongside cloud understanding.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS Cloud platforms.
  • Background working within government and education sectors.
