Graduate Natural Hazards Planning

Contribute to the development of natural hazard policy and its implementation in City Plan, enhancing the resilience of the Gold Coast. Work alongside engineers and technical officers to ensure our natural hazard mapping and City Plan requirements remain up-to-date.

Job Description
  • Develop a technically proficient understanding of natural hazard policy in broader land use planning contexts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports and briefings on natural hazard policy and land use planning issues.
  • Support the wider team in representing Natural Hazards in various forums and projects as required.
  • Support the delivery of a high level of customer service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Support the Natural Hazard Planning team in delivering projects and programs to address statutory requirements, in particular for amendments to the planning scheme.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Recognised bachelor's degree or post graduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2026.
  • Full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program.
  • Ability to work full-time.
