Behavioural Management Specialist

The Behavioural Management Programme seeks an experienced clinical psychologist to provide evidence-based behavioural interventions in a rehabilitation and aged care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with complex needs and develop tailored behavioural management plans.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions to promote positive behaviour change and support patients, carers and families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective service delivery and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support education and training initiatives for healthcare professionals to enhance their understanding and management of challenging behaviours.
Requirements
  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full-time duration or recognised equivalent.
  • WHS Responsibilities: take reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with work health safety policies and procedures.
  • WWCC: Current Working with Children Check Clearance (where applicable).
  • NPC: National Police Check (to be conducted by Health Service for Recommended Candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with general registration and specialist endorsement in Clinical Psychology or working towards endorsement.
  • Knowledge of working with cognitive impairment, dementia and BPSD, including formulating behavioural management plans.
  • Experience in cognitive screening and/or neuropsychological assessments and report-writing.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation with staff.

  • Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in clinical psychology is essential.
