Lead School Psychologist Role

We are establishing a pool of eligible and highly motivated school psychologists to fill lead positions in WA public schools across the state. This role will provide leadership and access to professional support and learning for all school psychologists.

The successful candidate will be directly accountable to the region's Director of Education and professionally accountable to the Department's Chief Psychologist. They will also be guided by Departmental policies and guidelines, as well as the Psychology Board of Australia's professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and access to professional support and learning for all school psychologists
  • Ensure professional supervision for provisionally registered psychologists
  • Assure the quality of practice meets the professional standards of the Department and the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Provide direct advice to the Director of Education and principals on complex issues and/or situations
  • Develop and implement appropriate programs, interventions, and evaluations at all levels

Requirements:

  • Current General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
  • Identification documents
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check through the Department's Screening Unit
  • Valid Working with Children Check

Eligibility:

This role is open to applicants who are currently employed and looking for acting opportunities, or those looking to return to the Department to a short-term placement. It is also suitable for individuals looking to start a career as a school psychologist leader in Western Australia.

Appointments from this pool will be required to commence immediately, so applicants must be currently residing in Australia.
