We are establishing a pool of eligible psychologists to be considered for part-time, full-time, permanent, and/or fixed-term school psychologist positions as they become available in our schools and regions across the state.
School psychologists are registered health practitioners who support the work of schools in enhancing student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.
They work in a range of diverse education settings with students, school leaders, staff, parents, the community and interagency partners, applying their expertise in mental health, learning, human development, behaviour and school systems.
Whether you are at the beginning of your psychology career or an experienced psychologist looking for a change, becoming a school psychologist makes a real difference in the lives of young people and can take you to amazing places across WA.
Who should apply?You should apply to this pool for school psychologist opportunities, if you:hold (or are eligible for) provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; andhave worked for less than two years (or not at all) in a school psychologist role.

Lead school psychologists and/or principals may consider applicants whose qualifications, skills, experience, and location preferences match available vacancies.
Referees may be contacted to verify your skills/experience.
You must be placed in the pool to accept an Offer of Appointment.
An offer may only be made via this pool to eligible and available applicants who are:not currently employed on a fixed term basis with the Department for the period of the appointment; oremployed as a school psychologist with the Department and the position being offered is permanent, an increased work fraction, or for a longer period of time than the current contract.
If you are currently a permanent employee with the Department of Education, your principal or line manager (e.g.
lead school psychologist) will need to approve your release before you can accept a fixed-term appointment at another school or location.

Lead school psychologists and principals may choose to fill vacancies using other options such as local recruitment activities or advertising positions.

Enrolment transcripts (for ongoing studies) – web printouts accepted, must include: Your name University name Course name Units completed Current enrolment/status and expected completion datetwo professional referees - one of which should be your current or most recent line manager where possible.
Students and recent graduates may wish to include their university course coordinator and/or placement supervisor as a referee.
Our public schools are located across 8 education regions and offer endless opportunities to live and work in Western Australia.
