The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a casual Government Paralegal to join our Sydney office in the Government & Administrative Law team. We act for a broad range of clients, including Commonwealth Departments and Agencies, primarily in Public Law litigation.

The matters span across Commonwealth employee compensation, military compensation, and veterans' entitlements, and disability insurance access and planning matters under the NDIS.

Responsibilities

You will work under the guidance of an experienced Partner and receive supervision and support from the broader team. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tribunal and court documents.
  • Summarizing medical and other records.
  • Preparing and reviewing summonses.
  • Drafting letters of instructions to experts and briefs to investigators.
  • Drafting and collating briefs to Counsel.
  • Preparing chronologies.
  • Legal research and summaries.
  • General paralegal duties.
Requirements

This position would be suited to a law student in their third year or those with at least 12 months' paralegal experience. We seek candidates with passion and enthusiasm for the law, a genuine interest in developing in the public law space, and a willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
