Job Overview

The Project Officer, Grants role plays a pivotal part in fostering and advancing research activity across the sector.

This position involves leading the coordination and delivery of internal and external research capacity building activities that engage the research community and promote knowledge sharing.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

A key aspect of this role is the management and support of the Institute's Internship Program, contributing to the development of future workforce capacity.

Additionally, this position requires maintaining and enhancing internal research systems and platforms to ensure seamless access to information and tools.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver research capacity building activities
  • Manage the Institute's Internship Program
  • Maintain and enhance internal research systems and platforms
  • Support grant administration as required

This role demands strong project management skills, with the ability to apply principles and techniques effectively to deliver complex projects.

Requirements
  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in an appropriate discipline such as health, public health, or health promotion, or equivalent relevant professional experience and training
  • Understanding of the NSW and/or federal health system, including relevant trends, issues, policies, and practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading research development activities, including the development, implementation, and governance of organisation-wide initiatives
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate new research initiatives
