Macquarie Geotechnical is a leading provider of geotechnical services with operations throughout Australia.
This role involves collaborating with laboratory managers and project managers to develop and implement health and safety systems and strategies that promote a positive safety culture within the company's geotechnical arm.
The successful candidate will lead the implementation of health and safety strategies to ensure works are delivered in line with legislative, group, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop internal documentation and safety systems to achieve accreditation.
- Conduct risk assessments, SWMS, hazard reporting, and proactive safety measures.
- Maintain health and safety reporting systems and actively engage with workers to facilitate a reporting culture.
- Conduct internal audits and site inspections across all facilities and project sites.
- Collaborate with workers to improve the identification of hazards and risks, liaise with stakeholders in the development and review of relevant safety strategies.
- Strong understanding of work health and safety legislation.
- Strong knowledge of acts, regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
- Operating knowledge and/or health and safety experience in laboratories, geotechnical engineering, or drilling services preferred but not essential.
- Experience in health and safety, preferably on project work.
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and systems.
- Well-organized professional with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be self-directed.
