Job Description

Role Summary:

As a Case Manager in our Kinship Care Program, you will be responsible for providing individual casework support to children and young people, including ongoing assessment of needs and case management of required supports to ensure they receive the care they need.

About the Role:

  • Support Children and Young People: Provide individual casework support to children and young people, including ongoing assessment of needs and case management of required supports.
  • Develop Case Plans: Develop case plans for all children and young people through consultation and review with relevant parties annually.
  • Build Relationships: Develop a positive and respectful relationship with the child and family, including home visits as required to address relevant issues within the framework of Barnardos policies and practices.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Work in partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and other services working with the family.
  • Support Kinship Carers: Provide ongoing support to Kinship Care placements as required using a family support practice approach.
  • Training and Development: Participate in developing and conducting group support and training for kinship carers.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Social Work or a related area, knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children, and understanding of the case management requirements of the PSP/OOHC system.

What We Offer:

Base salary $73,804 to $94,324 per annum, plus leave loading, superannuation, and packaging options.

  • Police Clearance: National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance.
  • Vaccination: Vaccination for COVID-19 is a condition of employment and engagement with Barnardos.
