Job Title: Medical Laboratory Assistant• A permanent full-time opportunity exists for a skilled laboratory professional to join our team in the Microbiology Department at Liverpool Hospital.

A vacancy has arisen in our state-of-the-art Microbiology laboratory, which provides services to several hospitals within the South West Sydney Local Health District. The successful applicant will be working on cutting-edge automation technology and digital bacteriology.

This is a key position that contributes to the provision of high-quality 24-hour, 7-day-a-week Microbiology services. The role involves working within a rotating roster with other scientific and technical assistant staff to cover out-of-hours services.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to enter the clinical Microbiology industry and work on the latest equipment. You will be part of a dynamic team and have access to ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Job Description:
  • Specimen receipt and processing
  • Bacterial culture setup
  • Media preparation
  • Maintenance of various laboratory equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high-quality work output while managing competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Awareness of legislation, policies, and requirements relevant to a laboratory setting
