This role is an opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Central Coast Local Health District.
We are seeking a medical practitioner with specialist recognition and experience in orthopaedic surgery to provide expert care to our patients.
The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
Job DescriptionAs a visiting medical officer in orthopaedic surgery, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients under the supervision of senior medical officers. You will also be involved in teaching and mentoring junior medical staff and students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing medical care to patients with complex trauma and revision arthroplasty needs
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff and students
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- Specialist recognition as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in orthopaedic surgery, including completion of a 12-month fellowship in complex trauma and revision arthroplasty
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and mentorship skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
