Job Description:


As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for leading a section of the breakfast kitchen, ensuring efficient and productive operations. You will work closely with Senior Chefs to prepare, present, and cook dishes according to established recipes and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Organize and manage your assigned section to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements, advising the supervisor in advance.
  • Train and develop Commis Chefs and apprentices to desired standards, including full working knowledge of the section and department.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
  • Collaborate with other kitchens to promote flexibility and productivity.
  • Meet and exceed customer/guest expectations, contributing to the hotel's reputation for consistent, value-for-money cuisine.
  • Adhere to current food health & hygiene (HACCP) regulations when storing and handling food.

Qualifications:


  • Full working rights for Australia
  • Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a 5-star environment
  • Experience in training others
  • Ability to organize time and work efficiently
  • Capacity to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Provision of culinary certificates upon application
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including weeknights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Understanding and maintenance of food safety standards and HACCP
