Exciting Culinary Opportunities at The Cove Hotel

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to fill the position of Commis Chef in our culinary team. As a key member, you will be responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and supporting the overall success of our dining and entertainment venue.

The Cove Hotel is a premier destination offering spectacular views of the marina in Patterson Lakes. Our bistro serves contemporary casual dining in a relaxed setting, making it an ideal location for those who appreciate good food and great company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to cooking guidelines and set standards.
  • Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks, including food assembly and plating.
  • Maintain control and leadership in the kitchen during service times.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.

This role may require lifting boxes, kegs or stock, standing for long periods of time, and utilizing stairs.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
