Job Description

A commercially astute and strategically minded professional is sought to drive profitability, productivity, and growth for a key practice group. The ideal candidate will work closely with partners to provide best practice commercial and financial advice that shapes decisions and drives performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise realisation by monitoring WIP, proactively managing projects/matters, minimising write downs, and providing commercial insights that drive stronger financial outcomes.
  • Shape pricing strategies by advising the Pricing Committee on tender submissions, profitability analysis, and commercial risk.
  • Champion smarter project scoping, LPM, and post-tender review to improve future performance.
  • Unlock growth by partnering with Business Development to identify new client opportunities through market analysis, client research, and cross-practice collaboration.
  • Boost productivity by working with People & Performance and Finance to optimise resourcing, talent mapping, and utilisation across teams.
  • Oversee promotions processes and recruitment approvals.
  • Upskill the business by delivering training to lift commercial acumen across the legal teams.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a commercial or finance role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, or a related field, along with a CPA/CA, are also required. Proven ability to interpret complex financial and operational data and turn it into actionable advice is essential.
