**Role Overview**: A professional is sought to contribute to the rehabilitation of young individuals in the justice system.

The Youth Justice Team provides community-based support and case management services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court. The team promotes the personal development of young people and contributes to reducing crime within the community.

As a Case Manager, you will work with young people and their families to develop and implement solutions addressing their needs and supporting their rehabilitation. Collaboration with other agencies and stakeholders ensures a coordinated approach to addressing complex issues affecting young people.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage a caseload of young people subject to youth justice supervised orders
  • Develop and implement individualised case plans addressing the needs and goals of each young person
  • Work with young people and their families to identify and address barriers to rehabilitation
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to addressing complex needs
  • Provide information, support and advocacy to young people and their families as needed

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Passion for contributing to the rehabilitation of young people in the justice system
  • Understanding of the youth justice system, the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and associated policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of case management principles, including assessments and interventions relevant to the background and needs of the young person
  • Empathy and cultural awareness, including appreciation of different cultures
  • Confidence in managing stakeholders, negotiating effectively to develop and implement solutions
  • Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work highly desirable
