Research Development Manager Role

La Trobe University is seeking a highly skilled Research Development Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing the university's success in major national research funding schemes. This strategic leadership position will focus on supporting competitive grants with the Australian Research Council (ARC) as well as industry-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and submission of high-quality proposals for ARC and industry funding opportunities.
  • Develop pipeline strategies to strengthen grant success.
  • Manage and mentor a team of grants professionals to deliver timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with business development to secure industry and commercial research funding.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in grant development and management.
  • Proven success in supporting major competitive funding applications, particularly Category 1 schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian research funding programs and major initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of proposals from concept through to submission and establishment.
