Horse Trainer/Educator Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Horse Trainer/Educator to join our racing stable. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in horse training and handling methods, particularly for thoroughbred racing.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to train and educate young and older horses, excellent horsemanship skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with other staff and owners. They will also possess strong team work and independent working skills, or proven management experience, sound knowledge of health and safety obligations, and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to racehorse training and preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educating young horses on the ground, as well as vet, swimming, and barrier education.
  • Managing a small team of horses and staff under the direction of the head foreperson.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to train and educate young and older horses.
  • Excellent horsemanship skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other staff and owners.
  • Strong team work and independent working skills (or proven management experience).
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to racehorse training and preparation.
