Position Overview

The ideal candidate will be tasked with delivering projects and engagements effectively while nurturing client relationships and guiding team members. As a Security & Privacy (S&P) consultant, you will engage extensively with clients, oversee staff training and development, and collaborate with external partners. You should possess a robust background in managing the complete project lifecycle for IT general controls audits, cybersecurity, and information security services. Additionally, you will be encouraged to enhance your strategic, business development, and leadership capabilities.

RSM's Security & Privacy Services offer specialized expertise in IT governance, risk consulting, cybersecurity, information security, and IT auditing. We cater to clients in both the public and private sectors, operating across diverse technology platforms and software environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct IT, cybersecurity, and technology risk assessments, evaluate the effectiveness of processes and controls, and assess risks associated with third-party organizations.
  • Execute and finalize individual IT and cybersecurity audits, along with special project reviews concerning various applications and IT infrastructure.
  • Perform independent, risk-based IT and cybersecurity audits to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and the reliability of the client's business and IT systems.
  • Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently, collaborating with various team members for planning, execution, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate or coordinate special consulting reviews as necessary, including system software evaluations, new system development assessments, and contingency planning reviews.
  • Assist in planning client deliverables, such as strategic internal audit plans and scope documents.
  • Oversee fieldwork execution and document findings, ensuring maintenance of the audit file.
  • Provide support for IT general controls and application controls audits to external auditors.
  • Define the objectives, scope, and extent of each audit, ensuring professional and timely completion.
  • Contribute to the firm's business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other divisions as needed.
  • Address technical issues and assist in the preparation of technical position papers.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Criminal Record Screening Clearance.
  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or qualification is essential.
  • Relevant professional certification/qualification is required, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC).

Experience and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Professional Services focusing on Cybersecurity, IT auditing, internal controls, or risk management.
  • Proven experience in conducting security risk assessments and auditing cybersecurity or information security standards.
  • Experience in managing engagements with teams performing various technical assessments and translating technical findings for non-technical clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in IT general controls and applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT processes, project management, applications, databases, operating systems, and network infrastructure to identify improvement opportunities.
