About the Role
Australian Finance Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Data Analyst to join our Risk team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the business in developing data-driven decisions with a risk management lens.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of risk-related data-driven initiatives to drive business growth and mitigate risk.
- Develop and maintain analysis of numerous risks and opportunities, including credit risk, operational risk, and climate risk.
- Interrogate the data warehouse to develop queries and datasets used for analysis and reporting across the organization.
- Create and maintain rich interactive dashboard visualizations using business intelligence tools (Tableau and Power BI).
- Work directly with business stakeholders to gather project requirements, provide status updates, and deliver data-driven outputs.
- Collaborate with our IT team to develop, implement, and maintain our data management environment and platform tools.
Requirements
- Tertiary degree qualified in statistics, commerce/finance, computer science, data science, or equivalent.
- Masters in Data Science or Predictive Analytics highly desired but not essential.
- Experience interrogating relational databases using SQL and programming experience (preferably in R and/or Python).
- Robust interpersonal skills to build relationships up, down, and across all levels of the organization.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Financial services credit risk and/or risk analytics experience will be highly regarded.
