About the Role
  • This is a key position that requires your expertise in embedding child protection principles throughout our organisation, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will maintain and improve our Child Safety program, developing policies and procedures for medical conditions, medication administration, and emergency response to child-related incidents.
  • Develop strategies to promote child safety, health, and wellbeing, serving as an advocate for child protection across the organisation.
  • Monitor and review infection control programs, providing information, training, and promoting a safe environment for children.
  • Maintain and continually improve child health, safety, and wellbeing policies and programs that meet legislation requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with information regarding our Child Protection and Safety risk profile, establishing systems to mitigate risks and prevent harm to children.
  • Ensure leaders and team members understand Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting obligations.
  • Implement and monitor Centre Child Safe Standard Self-Assessment Action Plan support packages.
  • Develop resources for Centre-based Child Protection Champions to embed a child protection and awareness culture.
  • Investigate reported child safety and protection incidents, identifying root causes and contributing factors, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Measure the success of the Child Protection and Wellbeing program through monitoring lead and lag indicators of success.
