About Our Role

We are seeking a skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and advice on health, safety and wellbeing matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice regarding health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Communicate, consult and collaborate with school staff, regional health, safety and wellbeing staff and the business unit, regarding the implementation of the department's HSWMS and promotion of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Partner with health, safety and wellbeing staff in schools to facilitate and assist in the completion of the annual safety assessment.
  • Facilitate attendance and/or assist in the identification, preparation and delivery of health, safety and wellbeing training and awareness for school employees.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of health, safety and wellbeing principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.

This is a full-time position based in Southport Special School. The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
