High Voltage Technician Role

Job Summary:

Lead a team of HV technicians in the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of high voltage electrical systems. Ensure the safety and reliability of clients' operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of HV technicians
  • Install, inspect and maintain high voltage electrical equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in high voltage systems and components
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent system failures
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement high voltage system upgrades and modifications
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards for high voltage work
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance reports and equipment logs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in high voltage systems
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven track record in working with high voltage electrical systems
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong familiarity with safety procedures and regulations pertaining to high voltage work
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in various environmental conditions
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and work away from home as required
Credentials:
  • Australian Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech
  • Electrical License
  • High Voltage Switching Cert (desirable but not essential)
  • Current CPR/LVR (within the last 9 months)
  • Current Unrestricted C Class Driver's License
  • White/Blue Construction Card
