Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic Taxonomy Experts to join our team at the Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS). The successful candidates will have expertise in taxonomy and systematics, particularly in marine invertebrates, non-flowering plants, or fungi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, editing, and curating data for authoritative nomenclature and taxonomy databases
  • Liaising with stakeholders and end-users, scientists, and data infrastructure experts
  • Providing advice and expertise on taxonomic matters to DCCEEW and other stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships with collaborators and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field, e.g., taxonomy, systematics
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and interpreting taxonomic data
  • Excellent understanding and evidence of application of the Code of Nomenclature for your field of taxonomic expertise
  • Evidence of project management and delivery of outcomes

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of $85,000 - $100,000 per annum, plus superannuation
