Centacare Specialist Family and Support Services is seeking a skilled Counselling Practitioner to join our team in Fortitude Valley. As a key member of our team, you will provide counselling services to children, couples, adults, and families, assisting them to manage challenges and improve relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct client intake, including risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis counselling as required.
- Provide brief solution-focused counselling sessions for children, couples, adults, and families.
- Facilitate group education sessions to diverse clients.
- Manage client referrals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive client outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Well-developed understanding of domestic and family violence, child protection, and family law.
- Demonstrated practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus with child safety, family law, and mental health.
- Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management, and referral pathways.
- Strong written and communication skills, including report writing and data collection.
- Ability to work with diverse families with complex needs.
