About the Role

Aurizon is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our high-performing legal team. As a Legal Counsel, you will provide commercially driven legal advice across a range of exciting focus areas, including property, land tenure, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on property, land tenure, real estate, and infrastructure projects
  • Focus on leasing, licensing, and commercial contracting across state and freehold land
  • Support our growing operations with expertise in one of the following areas: Property, Land Tenure & Infrastructure, Commercial & Operational Legal Support, or Corporate & Employment Law
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, interact with external legal advisors, and contribute to initiatives that enhance business efficiency
Requirements
  • Admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland with a current practicing certificate
  • Ideally a maximum of 2 to 8+ years' post-admission experience, with exposure to in-house legal practices in corporate environments or leading law firms
  • Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage matters independently
  • Experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A 'can-do' attitude and willingness to work across multiple legal areas
