A typical day in this role will involve managing all aspects of the HR function, collaborating with department heads and senior management to support the hotel's strategic goals and business objectives.

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with business objectives and IHG ways of working.
  • Oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies to ensure a high-performing, diverse workforce.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date employee records.
  • Collaborate with senior management to drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a small HR team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  2. Communication and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective communication and relationship-building skills, collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
  3. Business Acumen: Demonstrate strong business acumen, results-oriented, and commitment to driving continual improvement.
  4. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  5. Autonomy and Workload Management: Ability to work autonomously, manage workload across properties, and key deliverables within a project opening timeline.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within hotel human resources in a senior role.
  • Prior involvement in a pre-opening is desirable.
  • Proficiency in HR and Payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Tertiary education within a Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field (preferred).
  • Full Australian Working Rights.
