Heavy Equipment Technician

The role of a Heavy Equipment Technician involves overseeing the repair and maintenance of vehicles and construction equipment. Proficiency in automotive, hydraulic systems, and mechanical repair techniques is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and rebuild heavy equipment, including utility construction equipment such as digger derricks, man-lifts, and truck-mounted cranes.
  • Procure new and replacement parts and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Set up new equipment and ensure proper functionality.
  • Foster effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance, coupled with education in diesel technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card.
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver's license according to local regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Welding expertise.
  • Experience with electrical systems.
  • Hydraulic knowledge.
Work Environment:

This position requires work in a fast-paced shop environment, often under tight deadlines. The individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces.
