Primary Director Job Description

The Director of Primary Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Primary in effective leadership of the school. This position ensures smooth operational functioning and provides consistent, visible leadership in student behaviour and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support: Provide high-level support to the Head of Primary in implementing the school's strategic vision.
  • Operational Oversight: Assist with coordination of daily logistics such as staffing adjustments, assembly and event planning, and managing timetable-based adjustments or supervision needs.
  • Behaviour Leadership: Oversee the implementation of the school's behaviour curriculum, ensuring consistency across Primary. Respond promptly to escalated student behaviour (Level 2+).
  • Staff Development: Provide coaching, modelling, and professional learning for Teachers and Learning Assistants around behaviour management, trauma informed practice and positive culture-building.
