Corporate Accountant Role Overview

This is a Corporate Accountant position within one of Australia's leading companies. Canva continues to grow rapidly, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of their journey.

The role is based in Sydney, but you have the flexibility to work from various locations including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical assessments on accounting matters across various IFRS and US GAAP topics.
  • Collaborate with teams such as FP&A, procurement, tax, and legal to provide accounting guidance.
  • Create and maintain accounting policy processes, tools, and materials.
  • Prepare external reports and participate in decision-making related to financial and non-financial disclosures.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and industry practices.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting standards, preferably under multiple reporting frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP).
  • Experience in SaaS/tech industries, including equity or global subsidiaries.
  • Business, Finance, or Accounting degree and CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Solutions-focused, risk-aware, and collaborative team player.

The Reporting and Accounting Policy team plays a crucial role in Canva's growth and expansion. Our team members are located in Australia, the United States, and the Philippines, working together to simplify complex accounting concepts for stakeholders.
