About the Role

This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop and implement community engagement strategies for flood-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop effective community engagement plans for flood management initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and community members, providing timely responses to inquiries.
  • Facilitate public meetings, workshops, and consultations to gather input and feedback from diverse communities.
  • Prepare and distribute clear and concise communication materials that meet the needs of various audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement plans with project goals, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement activities, identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of community engagement principles and practices.
  • Flood knowledge and experience in a community-facing role.
  • Local council experience or equivalent.
  • Project coordination expertise, including event planning and execution.
  • Previous experience in stakeholder management or public engagement roles, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and communities.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations to various audiences.
  • Knowledge of flood management or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
