Release Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Release Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational delivery of IT services in a large, complex organisation.

  • Manage the release repository and update it with information that aids in managing key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
  • Coordinate release go-live activities, including the execution of deployment plans and checklists, and support the communication of release status, progress, issues, and risks.
  • Maintain relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations, including interfacing and communicating with Test Managers, Development Managers, Service Portfolios, and third-party suppliers.
  • Assist with the identification and escalation of risks and resolution of issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Monitor and report on progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to strategically lead, influence, promote, and motivate highly skilled teams to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Proven experience managing the operational delivery governance of managed IT services in large, complex organisations.
  • Promote collaborative relationships and partner with service owners and suppliers to accurately identify and manage emerging issues and challenges affecting releases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Project management skills with knowledge of presentation.
  • Team and time management skills.
Benefits

This is a Transport Award Grade 9 position ($138,670 - $155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
