The key responsibility of this role is to prepare high-quality electrical, control, and instrumentation deliverables for clients. This position involves working with a team of skilled professionals to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Designing technical deliverables by interpreting conceptual designs.
- Creating and updating electrical and control system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's, and Panel Arrangements.
- Conducting site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
- Maintaining AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures.
- Providing training and support to new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures.
- Collaborating with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensuring consistency and compliance with design standards across the organization and relevant Australian Standards.
- Maintaining MIPAC's CAD standards and library.
This role requires a combination of skills and qualifications, including:
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognized equivalent) with relevant industry experience, or a relevant electrical trade background.
- Proven experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Detail Draftsperson.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD (Advanced to Expert level), and/or MicroStation.
- Proficiency in design tools like AVEVA Instrumentation and Eplan.
- Experience in 3D modelling software.
- Strong oral communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
- High level of computer literacy and excellent mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ideally an understanding of ISO 9001 principles.
- Previous experience overseeing and reviewing design work of direct reports.
- Focused and ability to prioritize workload to ensure efficient project delivery.
