Job Description

Role Summary

The Commercial Finance Specialist will provide strategic financial support to the operational leadership team at Anglo American plc. This role will involve bringing a financial lens to various operational decisions, providing commercial input, and facilitating accurate forecasting and budgeting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making.
  • Support the Commercial team in completing end-of-month processes and facilitating accurate forecasting and budgeting.
  • Develop commercial insights to assist onsite teams in making value-driven decisions.
  • Identify and communicate operational root causes of financial performance deviations.
  • Support discipline managers in providing reporting tools for informed decision-making.
  • Identify commercial improvement opportunities and enable effective business partnering.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification with a minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in business services or a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of integrated ERP systems (SAP) and strong data analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience dealing with complex commercial finance projects within a large organization is advantageous.
