Job Title: Curriculum & Planning Leading Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled leading teacher to join our team in a leadership role.

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and school priorities
  • Develop and implement whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery
  • Provide professional development and develop individual and team development plans for teaching staff within the priorities of the school
  • Support and lead staff performance and development (review of staff)
  • Teach demonstration lessons
  • Develop and manage the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices
  • Implement the school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline
  • Develop curriculum in a major learning area and participate in curriculum development in other areas
  • Manage general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school
  • Develop proposals for school council consideration
  • Develop and manage the school code of conduct

Requirements:

You must be:

  • A highly skilled classroom practitioner with experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing staff, improving teaching and learning outcomes, and contributing to policy development relating to teaching and learning
  • Able to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement
